The Assessment Process
You can either visit our center for a full-on assessment alone without first meeting a therapist for counselling, based on the areas of your concern. This is most commonly seen when children require specific psychometric assessments to grant them special access into educational programs or even to monitor progress following a formal diagnosis of disorders such as autism. Ideally, the assessment process would comprise of 3 sessions and include the following steps:
Step 1: If you are preparing for an assessment and reach out for one, you will be asked to fill an email form about yourself and the area of your concern. You will also be given a call by the Psychologist before coming in for an initial assessment.
Step 2: You would come in for an initial assessment with a Psychologist where you would be asked questions related to developmental history, previous medical history, family relationships as well as behavioural and psychological issues. This would be 2 hours in length.
Step 3: After the initial assessment you will be invited for a formal psychometric assessment which would take 3 hours in length.
Step 4: Your data would be scored, interpreted and discussed amongst our team of Psychologists within 1 week after testing.
Step 5: Following the 1-week period, you will be invited for a half-an-hour follow-up session to discuss your report with a Psychologist.
